What is an independent broker-dealer?

A broker-dealer is a company that processes the investment business of affiliated representatives like me. In the United States, a broker-dealer has to be registered with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority(FINRA) and is responsible for following securities laws. The broker-dealer must also ensure that the rep-advisors are properly licensed, avoid conflicts of interest, demonstrate responsibility, follow securities laws and provide due diligence on all products that the rep-advisor offers to their clients.

It allows us to offer non-proprietary investment products from a wide variety of companies with no product or sales quotas. Therefore, we are not pressured or distracted by corporate interests and can focus on what is best for you and your financial goals.
